

Ben Freville has been an instructor in the School of Education at Dominican
University for the past four years. He has been in the education field for the past
twenty years. The majority of his time was spent as a secondary classroom teacher
and special education teacher; the last three years were spent in secondary
administration.
He received his bachelors degree in business education from Bellarmine University in
Louisville, Kentucky. He later received his Masters of Theological Studies from
Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and his Masters in Special Education from
Dominican University. He has studied at the Center for Research in Learning at the
University of Kansas. His doctoral work is in curriculum and instruction with an
emphasis in Special Education from Loyola University Chicago.
Mr. Freville's research interests include educational technology, learning strategies
instruction and its impact on students with disabilities, the impact of instructional
routines on learning content, experiential learning, and the impact of metacognitive
strategies on student learning.
